Welcome to the HUB Camera Club. Our club was formed in 1998 with the goal of fostering enjoyment of photography at all skill levels. As a result, we are one of the few photo clubs that have continued to increase their membership. We offer a friendly atmosphere and provide multiple opportunities to showcase our members’ photography.
Throughout our operational year, we not only hold regular meetings and competitions, we have multiple exhibits and road trips – at least one of which is an overnight stay at a photographic location. (Last year we went to St Michaels, MD; the year before to Cape Ann, MA.) The programs presented at our meetings are geared to educating our members – not just the typical show-and-tell platform for the presenter.
Another venture we started last year was our small group meetings that are held away from the regular club meetings. There are three groups that members can join – a New Photographers Group where those just starting out (or who are not comfortable moving up to the next level) can ask questions and get instruction tailored to their needs. Another is the Advanced Photographers Group where new technology, software and more challenging techniques are discussed. The third group is our Photo-editing Group where members see Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) demonstrations, ask questions and share experiences.
